The scholarship will help me not only with the finances of my final undergraduate year at ISU, but will help give me more room to pursue my academic interests during my final year.
We maintain a low expense ratio to ensure that your donation is efficiently used to support dependents of deceased or 100% disabled veterans. Our 2021 expense ratio was less than 2% of revenues.
All of our partner institutions agree to match our funds, and to not charge us an administrative fee. Therefore, all donations to the HOAPF are matched 100%, which means we use your donation effectively.
Our partner institutions recruit applicants for our DEA scholarships, determine the recipients, and report their results back to the HOAPF.
We started our DEA Scholarship program with 12 partner institutions in 2021. We have identified eight additional institutions that want to partner with us, many of whom already have matching funds available.
Our budget for 2022 is for us to raise $500,000, which would enable us to partner with each of these institutions in addition to our 12 initial partners. That would provide a total scholarship pool of $1 million.
This is a stretch goal, however, and we have been working diligently to raise sufficient money to partner with these 20 institutions.
The chart below indicates our impact on veterans and their families since we started operating in 2012.
